  • Barbarian Archer problem

In my current game I had a barb archer coming at my capitol, I attacked it with my archer and lost, thats not so bad and I can live with it. Whats bad is it appears the barb archer is getting a +50% defense bonus when there is no barb city anywhere near, see screenshot.

A bug or am I simply missing something here?

Shouldn't it have forest defence instead? (Or am I misreading the image? - Or do you have your mouse over the wrong unit?)
"You are one of the cheerleaders for this wasting of time and the wasting of lives. Do you feel any remorse for having contributed to this "culture of death?" Of course not. Hey, let's all play MORE games, and ignore all the really productive things to do with our lives.
Let's pretend to be shocked that a gamer might descend into deeper depression, as his gamer "buds," knowing he was killing himself, couldn't figure out how to call 911 themselves for him. That would have involved leaving their computers I guess."

the 50% City Defense bonus is a given for this type of unit. It does not get applied when it's not defending a barbarian city. Use Alt-mouseOver to examine the real combat advantage.

guess I haven't used archers outside cities enough to notice that.

Yes, when you mouse over a unit it gives the unit's properties. All of them, including movement bonusses and the such.
