      The despot.

As an aside... maybe I missed it when I read the manual, but what does it *do* in CivIV? I haven't noticed anything dramatic...

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

        City gets no maintaince cost.

But I have no idea what triggers "we love the king" thing.

A city under WLTK day incurs no maintenance costs for that turn. So yeah really not much benefit there. I hope they will eventually make it so WLTK days are actually useful so having a super happy pop might be a strategy or something.

              It's in the manual somewhere.
              Requirements are:
Size 7 or greater city that has had no unhappiness or unhealth for some undisclosed time
              Effect is:
              No Maintenence costs that turn

it could have more impact, but it is by no means a negative point in the game, just one that can be improved

One says the tyrant, another the despot. Oh well...

traditionally, it would be "we love the despot day."

and i miss the old, highly valuable, we love the king days. cities that grow EVERY TURN given sufficient food? hell yes!

and let's not forget the parades...
it's just my opinion. can you dig it?
