I have been lucky and have had few problems with CIV, but a friend of mine recently bought it and is having some very strange problems, I really want to play MP so I've been doing my best to help him out but we're both at our wits end, so I come here for answers.
The problem started very small, his game ran fine with a few minor graphics hiccups, but would crash after aobut 20-30 mins. i suggested updating his video drivers. this was apparently not a good idea. the game stopped loading period. after reinstalling the drivers agian and doing some guesswork we managed to get the game to load, but now freezes at the intro movie. so i turned movies off in the .ini the the game now loads to the title screen, but the graphics are so destroyed and blurred it's unplayable. don't have a screen shot, if it will behelpful i might be able to get one
his specs as best i can remember (im at home we gave up around 1am last night)
AMD 3000 processor
512 RAM
nVIDIA GeForce 4 64mb
he seems to meet recomended requirements in everything but the vid card, which is minimum. hopefully the answer is something other than "upgrade"
