Graphic ops

Hey m8s

i just got civ4 for x-mas.
well now i instaled it, no problems. but when i try to tun and it runs the renderer it comes up with this msg Failed to initialize renderer - Check DirectX version and graphics settings.

Wll i got the newest DirectX and i dont get it thay just write check, check WHAT??

Well i got Windows xp sp1, 512 ram, radeon 5600.
I also got the newest drivers i could find for both my grahfics card and motherbord..... any ideas?

would really apreciate some help...!

Have you installed the most recent patch (v1.52)? If not, do so since that resolved many of the renderer problems. Here's a link to the patch:
