  • Patch 1.09 ruined my Civ 4 - error message

    I got this error:

Failed to load python module CvEventInterface

And now, the graphics are completely screwed up -- ie. the options don't show up.

Deinstall everything then install Civ IV again.

Tried. Didn't help with the patch.

You don't want patch 1.09 anyway. Get your hands on 1.52, it's much better.

I also updated my gfx drivers (Nvidia), so hopefully, that'll help too. Will let you know the result.

            1.52 messed up my game

            more slowdown
            cant join MP
            below reccomended specs (wasn't before)
            many graphical errors

the game ran almost flawlessly w/ 1.09 for me

As much as i love the game, it is a technical nightmare!

Um, don't install the patch, just the original game.

Well, guess what? The game doesn't install at all anymore:

                Feature: DefaultFeature
                Component: Civ4Component
                File: D:\data2.cab
Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

                Camel. Straw. Back.

No more Civ 4. Too much of a pain in the butt to even bother with anymore.

Seems your CD disc is faulty.

Well it's CRC errror pointing to your CD drive.
                      It can't be anything else.
