Black Game

Hi

When i try to play a new game, the workers and cities and resources display ok, but the rest of the map is just black, so i cant see coastline or anything.

However if i try to play the American Independence scenairo, all is well.

Could anybody tell me why this is please?

I am having the same problem, except I can see forests and rivers over the black background. As well, leader animations are only floating eyebrows and teeth, and the city names/sizes appear as boxes. I have not found a scenerio that works okay. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Found the solution.... install the patches

Via the advanced option... you may need to try this a few times...

I get a similar problem when I play on certain maps. If I scroll the screen so that I am too close to the edge of the map, the terrain turns black. This problem usually occurs on the flat maps. I have all the patches installed.
