Has anyone else seen this message? The message comes up when I start Civ that my system doesn't meet the minimum system requirements, and that it's adjusted the video settings to compensate. However, I more than meet the requirements. The game runs as good as everyone else appears to see it running (choppy movies, long load times from save games, etc). I have a pentium 2.4GHz, 768Megs of RAM, 128 Mb GeForce 4, plenty of disk space, etc etc.

Never saw that one. Not even when I installed it on my PIII Compaq presario (PIII 1.1, 1GB RAM, Mobility M6) to see if I could get it to work on a subpar system. Was shocked when it actually ran and was playable (no black fog, complete leader heads). I remember seeing that you could disable it in one of the xml files, though. Can't remember the exact post, but if you look around this forum you should be able to find it.Power corrupts...And absolute power is actually pretty neat!

Sorry, waste of a thread, I posted this away from home. It got me thinking - do I really have a 128MB video card? I just got home to check and it turns out no. So... that's why I'm seeing it. Captain Obvious strikes again.
If it makes anyone feel any better, I have the 1.09 patch and I can play the game fine. I just have choppy video. Haven't tried a huge map yet and gotten to around 2000 AD, I'll see how sluggish it is then.
