I'd make a comment about someone letting me play a copy, but chances are the only legitimate copies are selling for outrageous amounts on e-bay and amazon.

Civ1 is available all over the net, just make a simple search.

I only play one game, which is civilization (4) so I can't compare and I don't know if any other game is any better. But to me civ4 certainly is the game of the year

It won PC game of the year, Overall game of the year and turn-based strategy game of the year. While it was a shoe-in for the turn-based one, I suspect that www.aeginfo.com and good amounts of money had a little something to do with it getting the other two. Its a great game and a worthy ascension to the civ throne, at least without the ctd's, but game of the year? for PC and overall?

I have to admit that there weren't many games I liked this year, so I guess in my mind Civ4 would have had a legitimate shot at this, but on a mainstream gaming site, that covers not only PC games but console games as well...something is fishy. Also the game has a fairly limited audience...oh well.
