nuked?

I have been playing the game for years now, and thorugh all the different versions i have never been nuked by the AI. just wondered if anyone had?

Nope. Although I've seen the AI nuke other civs.

The Zulu nuked me once in Civilization 1.

Shaka and I became good friends afterwards, as I accepted whatever he demanded (until I had built a massive nuclear arsenal). Then I totally annihilated him and his despicable empire. MUAHAHAHA!

That was a game to remember.

Nukes in Civ 4 are crappy. Civ needs bigger, better, boomier WMDs.

Been playing Civ since I got my first IBM compatible computer (386, 16 mhz) and I've been nuked a few times in the original.

The fun thing is to build nukes before the Non-Proliferation agreement thing is signed from the UN vote and then when someone goes to war with you, you blow their cities up knowing they can't reciprocate.. Hey, I didn't build more, but I didn't dismantle what I had either.

I can remember being hammered quite a few times in Civ2... usually they nuked the cities that I'd just taken from them

I think I've been nuked only once, in a civ2 game on deity level.

I thought I was far ahead of the AI and I was playing around a bit with them, instead of going for a straight win. I nuked the English for the fun the fun of it... And they nuked me back. I hadn't build SDIs yet since I thought I was quite save. OUCH

I learned a hard lesson that day. At deity level, the AI is not to be triffled with too much.

Have had some nuke exchanges yes... but only after I first launched one I think. Never in Civ4 though, and I can't remember if it was even in Civ3

I've been nuked in all earlier Civ games, but not in CivIV

I do understand the AI though, the nukes are pretty much useless

Even though I have greatly upped the strength of nukes in my games in CIV4, the AI still never builds them. I guess they are not smart enough to take advantage of my modding. ;-)

Btw. If anyone can point me to a value in the XML which modifies the AI's desire to build certain units, let me know.

civ 1 and 2 were always nuke happy against me. Civ 3 dont think i ever got nuked. never even seen and ai nuke in civ4. most games end first.


Take that back, civ 3 nuked me a few times.

In my test Civ4, if you give the AI Nukes via cheating with the WB, they will use them against you. (you do not see the fireball though when they hit you).

But will the AI build them in the first place? Not tested yet.

I do know that they will NEVER build the Manhatten Project 'Wonder'....not that I have seen, so it maybe up to you to build the Manhattan Project first to get the AI to start building nukes for themselves.

I have actually seen the AI build the Manhatten Project in a couple of games. This was however when just about every other wonder had already been built and I was behind in techs, so I guess it is not a high priority for the AI.
