I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

I was wondering about that. Was it Civ3 that had a default setting where you would start near civilizations with similar starting traits, and they arranged them among the civs so that this made them similar to their real-life geographical groupings?Originally posted by Handel
If you choose the sane starting conditions (size, # of civs, etc etc) you get the same leaders in the same neighbourhood.

I played on huge map AFTER the patch as Qin and I get Inca beside me, Isabella and Caesar before me and right behind them Napoleon, Cleo and Monti.Originally posted by Yyrkroon
I think that (non random start) was only before the patch.
There was apparently a bug that had to do with the random number generation/seeding.
There is no randomization at all.

In Civ3 you can choose "culturally linked starting locations". Each civ was either American, European, Middle Eastern, or Asian. If you chose cultural linkage civs with the same culture would start next to each other.Think Galactically -- Act Terrestrially
