What to upgrade to optimize CIV 4

Hello everyone,

I have:

AMD 3200 2.2 gig processor
K8N-E Deluxe MB
1 gig RAM
Sapphiretech (ATI clone) Radeon 9800 pro 256 MB video
Windows XP
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS sound card

When playing hotseat with friends, the time between turns increases later in the game until it is almost unplayable, especially on larger maps. Would any of you be able to recommend what could be upgraded (and upgraded to what) so this game runs as smooth and quick as possible?

I cannot say from personal experience as I only have 512Mb in my computer but from what I have read elsewhere 1.5Gb is an absolute minimum gor huge map games. 2Gb is much better.

I understand that CIV is a real memory hog, so probably the best advice concerning a memory upgrade is, if you can afford it, buy it!
