Stuck on loading screen need assistance

Hi, I just got a new computer amd 3700+ DFi nf4 ultra d and radeon x800 xl and installed Civ 4. I was expecting to get the usual renderer error like I got on my old computer but on this computer I it wont even get to that poiint. It gets stuck on the loading screen (says loading in several different languages) then after about 3 minutes it crashes to the send error to microsoft screen. I have followed all the instructions given in the forum eg. updated all video drivers/mobo drivers/audio drivers, tried reinstalling, tried the pak thing.

Can anyone help me?

ive updated everything but still cant get pass the first screen.

That sounds like possibly a CD error (is it scratched or anything?), or some sort of strange incompatibility.

I suggest calling the tech support phone # in the manual ... Take Two may be able to solve this. There's just not enough info here for me to make a guess at the problem other than generalities ...
