  • Stonehenge...Do you use it?

I always play Ghandi and always build stonehenge. I use it to carve out an area for my cites and block other civs by not agreeing to open borders untill I feel I have settled all my cities the way I want too.

I'd expect it depends on the civilization/leader you're playing. Most of my games now are as Catherine; since Cathy is creative and I get 2 culture per turn in all cities automatically, I don't need an obelisk to expand the borders. So, I skip it as Russia. If I'm playing Rome, I try to build it.
Age and treachery will defeat youth and skill every time.

I don't use Stonehenge if I have a cultured civ and rarely otherwise. If I have stone and I already have a city building the Pyramids I will put it on my wish list.

Open borders is something I usually agree to since I haven't had much trouble expanding, I usually have to stop because of upkeep before my neighbours box me in. After that my expansion is mostly through war. Open borders allows me to scout things out to decide what cities I want take or I want to remove so I can expand.

I build stonghenge simply because it is so cheap; unless it interferes with the pyrimids or the parthenon.

In your case with Ghandi, you're industrialist so even if there is no stone nearby you can probably build it quite quickly so you would have to consider building it.

I usually don't build it because I am also usually playing a cultured civ. I am usually building the pyramids in my capitol and I am using the rest of my cities to build worker/settlers and then my war machine. I also do open borders and if someone settles on top of me they become the target of my first show of force. After all, one needs to cow the other civs early on.

Gandhi's the perfect leader to build this Wonder with. You start with the required tech, you get a bonus to Wonder production, and you also start with Mining, which allows you to utilize hills squares in your city radius properly.
Participating in my threads is mandatory. Those who do not do so will be forced, in their next game, to play a power directly between Catherine and Montezuma.

I only build it if it can be done in very few turns and if I can see it's impossible to build the Pyramids before the others... and there should be no luxuries nearby that requires Calender
When I build it, it's only for the extra great leader bonus, as the other bonuses from it are pretty uselss:
I don't like the 'center map' bonus as it kinda ruins the fun of discovery, and the buildings you get from it are removed when you discover Calender (They should have let them stay, but just make it impossible to build more)
This space is empty... or is it?

Yeah, I also only build it if I'm not a creative leader. Anybody else and I get it after my second or third city.

a couple of warriors or an industriously speedy stonehenge? Most of the time its no contest for me really.

It's a complex question on whether I go for Stonehenge.
If I go for Mysticism, I get Stonehenge.
But the techs I go for usually don't include Myst until much later.
Culture is the main problem of my playstyle (Early Forges and/or CS Sling), I tend to resolve it with Libraries or Organised Religion + Missionaries with Confucianism.

I build it as it is cheap and usually available. I don't rush to build it but it does not seem like the AIs that I have played against (Noble, 18 civs huge terra, epic) have gone for it. I have not played many games though.

If you have stone as a resource, it is a no-brainer. Just research masonry and then build it.

Building it is the quickest way to get a Great Prophet. Gandhi is best for doing this, since he is Industrious and can start it immediately. If there is Stone nearby, hop on it with settlers and it will be built very quickly if you research Masonry first, since there will be no need to build a quarry or connect the Stone with a road.
