I'm pretty sure it was posted here as I found it in a thread here or at Fantatics but this worked perfectly for me and I still see threads on this.
First I'll say that other then skipping movies I've had no other technical problems with the game.
Anyway, try this:
Turn off anti-aliasing in the game.
Exit the game.
Configure your video card to run anti-aliasing itself.
Restart the game with the shift key down which clears the cache (obviously the patch is needed here)
That's it. For me the wonder movies now play perfectly *and* I've noticed yet another speed increase in the game as a whole, probably because the hardware is now doing the AA.
I have an ATI 9800 Pro 128 meg and set the AA to 4x.
Other specs: 2.8 ghz P4, 1 gig RAM.
So give this a try and see if it works for you. Can't hurt and you can always set things back the way they were.
