  • Changing Length of Golden Ages...

    How is this done?

Sorry if this has been covered before (if it has pls, post a link).

I'm a Tech Idiot, so if someone could post a step-by-step instructions on how to do this:

    1) Where is the file located exactly?
    2) What changes need to be made exactly?

Also, is it possible to Change your default Color?

    Thanks

This really belongs in the modding forum, but oh well.

In Assets/XML there's a file called GlobalDefines.xml. Inside, look for:

    (Define)
    (DefineName)GOLDEN_AGE_LENGTH(/DefineName)
    (iDefineIntVal)8(/iDefineIntVal)
    (/Define)

Change 8 to whatever you like. Note that you won't actually see parenthesis. The actual brackets won't display on this forum.

It is strongly advised that you save the modified file either into a mod folder (copying the assets/xml structure) or in the CustomAssets folder. This will make it easy to activate/deactivate for multiplayer.

So, the default Golden Age length is 8 turns?

          Thanks for the reply.

If I don't plan on doing multiplayer, do I need to move around the folder?

          If possible, I'd rather not...

Also, is it possible to change the default color that I start with?

          Thanks again.
