Has anyone gotten Civ 4 to run on a laptop, and if so, what model do you have? I've suddenly found myself in the market for a new laptop, but I'm hoping someone has some pointers as to one that can run it. Thanks.

IBM T42. Severe problems with black terrain/missing leaderheads/invisible cows, pigs, horses/tile production display. The graphics card is ATI Radeon 7500 Mobility.
Patch 1.09 seems to fix at least the black terrain and tile production display so now I've got the game in at least playable state.

I've got one of these and it runs Civ4 great:
Though i don't recommend buying from Cyberpower. They have total garbage for support. I think you can get the same laptop through other resellers. Maybe IBuyPower? I dunno. Good laptop, but Cyberpower sucks.
Manufacturer is uniwill.com

I have a Toshiba Satellite, the game, on start up, says the system is below minimum specs and won't run. Then it lets me load a game and play. So far so good. No cheshire cats, no fog of war/black screen problems. Wonder movies chop some, and the Firaxis intro just plain doesn't work properly, but I logged about 6 hours of play time last night no bother.
*Intel Pentium M processor, 1.60 Ghz
*478 MB RAM
*Intel Extreme Graphics 2, 64 MB (the 82852/82855 chipset)
Actually surprised the game's working as well as it is so far . . . it's only staying on my laptop until after Christmas, when I can afford a new desktop though.
Oh yeah, I often don't see anything but shadows instead of horses, pigs etc., but that's a minor nuisance. I just hit the show all resources helper button every now and again, especially when looking for spots for a new city.
Guessing the "problems" are because the graphics card isn't really supposed to be able to run the game, but the system itself takes over and forces most of the important stuff to work.
