  • Stack Attack

Neither the manual or the strat guide explain this option. What does it do? I understand about collateral damage on stacks, etc.

It just makes all of the units you have selected attack an enemy stack, one by one, until one stack or the other is destroyed.

It's nice for big stacks of modern units vs. big stacks of old ones, where the results are nearly certain.

I made a mistake in an MP game of stack attacking another guy's city that had three defenders with my stack of three attackers. The odds for each battle - as it would normally go - were about about 8.something to 6.something in each case. I lost all three battles. If I had attacked one at a time I would have been able to pull back when things went poorly.

does one actually receive collateral damage when one attacks a siege weapon?

No, the siege weapon has to attack you.
