What is this patch everyone is playing with?

Is it a hacked pre-release patch? Is it a patch Firzis released then pulled? Is it just a an excuse hackers use so people over look their hack? All I know is about half the people in the lobby all claim they're using the patch.

The patch is from Firaxis but it was pulled due to their being bugs in it. There are several bugs at this point and it still creates CTDs....

The patch was never on the official Firaxis site, and there was no official announcement, so the speculation is that it was accidentally released via the online updater in Civ4 prematurely.

****, no wonder they pulled it. This patch is more buggy then v1.0! I've never got a CTD before this and now I got three in a row!

People in the lobby are giving it to each other. Go there if you want a copy. Word on the street is it will be released in 24 hours though it will likely remain a majorly underwelming patch.

As I said, it's likely it wasn't meant to be released at this point in the first place.

What exactly are they smoking @Firaxis anyway?

Well, I was using the patch and when I built the internet there was a flashing black X over Gore's pic, so it was obvisouly a computer glitch.

We promise to reboot more often.

I downloaded it from Apolyton dir, after it got pulled off from automatic update.

I'd heartily recommend people not download that patch, as it's apparently not a finished product.

Hotseat diplomacy bug is toast.

Haven't played much to see if its stable (or why its pulled off), but old saves do work with new patch.
