Have any of you experienced this - units that walk across ocean squares? It happens at least once per game for me. Of course, once per game isn't quite correct since Civ4 either crashes, freezes, or sends me back to the desk top before I can finish.

units do seem to occasionally "drift" across the map after finishing a move.
I have only seen this in very large stacks. While there might be a physics engine that applies to the jugs, I doubt that an entire engine was written specifically for the funbags. - Cyclotron - debating the pressing issue of boobies in games.

oh, and i think only when all the units in the large stack are selected at the same time as a group. While there might be a physics engine that applies to the jugs, I doubt that an entire engine was written specifically for the funbags. - Cyclotron - debating the pressing issue of boobies in games.

I've never had a situation like the ones described above, but I did have some guys walking on water. They were in a transport ship, and then I chose a fortified unit in a city, and then chose to wake all my units (alt-"eye" icon), then I had some guys who would be standing on the deck, taking a look see...
I couldn't move them anywhere, but they would pop up each turn.
I've had a battle with an empty city a few times, where the unit would phase in after being defeated tho...Avast, ye scurvy dogs, prepare to be boarded!

I've seen this not once. The most recent was also the most hilarious: I had a big stack (something like 20+ units) and I was attacking a japanese city. When I shift-clicked on the units and selected them all, they started to move and they didn't stop until they crossed the ocean. I was ROTFL, so sorry, but I could not take a screenshot. After I right clicked on the desired location, they crossed the ocean back with the speed of light and ended in the desired location.
Every time when this happened before, the units were moving 3 or 4 tiles away, but this time they travelled at least 30 tiles. I had maceman and catapults among them, and as they were moving across the ocean it was really looking as if the macemen were bycicling the catapults on the water. ROFLMAO

that's exactly what i've seen too Tiberius. Graphically they are way off course, but you can still move them accurately.
The first time i saw this, I thought my units were running away from battle!! come back you cowards!!!!
I think the large stack screws it up.While there might be a physics engine that applies to the jugs, I doubt that an entire engine was written specifically for the funbags. - Cyclotron - debating the pressing issue of boobies in games.

this happens for me right after a save. If i go to quit and save it, and i'm currently on a large stack, they will for shore make a 45 degree angle down to the left track across whatever terrain or water...
but never fear, their flags stay in place and if you move them, they will just pop back in place!

Hahah walking across water? youre such a liar, how could this be?!
You mean like this:
Have you guys ever seen stealth gunships?
I have a legit question here tooIm wondering why calculations are made and added to the defenders total but not the attackers, my unit should be like 11.5 or something right?

The "City Raider" promotion actually subtracts 45% (in this case) from the defender's strength, rather than adding it to your attacker. For you math folks:
3+(3*.2)+(3*.25)+(3*.5)-(3*.45) = 4.5
That assumes I did my math right, which I'm pretty sure I did.

I haven't seen walking on water, but often I see the units walk where they're not supposed to work... I did see a ship sail on land though
And one time when I attacked a city with many units the screen was sent to the other side of the world, so I was looking at some boring city in the middle of the ocean whenever I attackedThis space is empty... or is it?
