  • Civ 4 "Priority" fix

    Civ 4 is set to run at "Below Normal" priority by default for some inexplicable reason. Creating a .bat file to force the game to run at "High" priority has greatly improved performance for me. Thanks to humba3 over at CFC for the tip...

    Basically you need to make a .bat file that forces the game to run at High priority, and then start the game using the .bat file instead of the .exe. Details can be found here:

    AFAIK it only runs "below" whenever it loses focus.
    Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

      Well, it must have been losing focus on launch for me then. My load times have sped up incredibly and the game runs smooth now where it didn't before.
