of course I will take cheap shots at others who act in a stereotypical manner (not viciously or racist) but americans tend to make it extra easy
Yeah, I still don't get it.

Only because you have some complaints about the game. Try sitting on the other side of the fence and you'll see just how nasty they really are. I've stopped going there in fact, to many angry people hanging out there. I got really tired of being jumped on.

Sorry, but if you want to be involved with computers you're going to have to expect to hand over a bunch of money from time to time to keep things up-to-date. That's just the way it is. Have you heard of Moore's Law? Well with the degree of performance we're seeing these days, a 3 year old system is going to be downright clunky in comparison to what's state of the art. You can't expect a game developer to hold back on their production values in order to satisfy all those people who refuse to upgrade their antique machines.

Since the game is highly moddable -- that means about anything can be added to the game, and while you are dissappointed in the game and life in general -- that can be added to the game -- probably as much as you can be added to the game!

Now, go learn xml and python scripting languages, while the SDK is being made, and go learn something.

In fact if you wanted a new computer, you would not be on the Internet -- you be saving the money for a new computer -- then getting back on the Internet -- unless you think -- everything should be free -- and free -- is not what you are in this Universe. Now politics and games do not mix, unless you think that they do, which they do not, - since modding is the very thing that can be done with this game.

Unfortunately, lawsuits or failed lawsuits aren't even close to being fatal.

No but being flat broke certainly limits your options for raising a family, not to mention even finding a mate.

They make a Reuben with Russian dressing? That's my favorite sandwich right there.

Most places use Thousand Island and it tastes gross.

I know what I'm having for supper tonight. (I gotta drive home so, no ale.)

$13 USD for fish and chips, yikes! BTW, what's Raion been smoking? Voted no, of course, but the game works for me and there are very few games I "hate". You need a banana option next time, we like bananas here.

Firaxis didn't trick, or force, anyone into buying any game.

Secondly, I've seen this threat so many times, with so many other games.... and, to date, not a single damned one of them has ever made it to court (to my knowledge). Why anyone would go through all that time and effort to get a refund (which is the most likely, best case, scenario) is totally laughable.

Cross posting from another thread, this chap helpfully expanded upon my statement that Civ4 caused the holocaust.

Actually, Civ4 was purchased 3 weeks ago by a NASA engineer on his way to assist with the japanese space program. Two days after arrival, his japanese co-workers 'acquired' a copy and within a day spread it all over the network.

Two weeks ago, a buffer overflow exploit was discovered in the command and control communications rig. Technicians were called in to patch the bugs, a process which took several hours. A side effect of the emergency patching resulted in patchy communications, with zero imaging capability and limited telemetric exchanges.

Five days later full operations resumed.

One week ago disaster struck the japanese space program, as the Hayabusa probe failed in its mission to attach the Minerva surface exploration droid to the Itokawa asteroid. Delayed photo imaging shows the Minerva apparently drifting away from the target asteroid.

It has now vanished... but not forever.

At 7:17 AM on the morning of June 30, 1908, a mysterious explosion occurred in the skies over Siberia.

A wormhole had momentarily torn a hole in the fabric of space-time, a hole that coincidentally connected this region of space to the location of the Minerva droid, one week ago.

There the droid lay buried for two decades, until it was discovered by a german geologist. Although damaged, the droid still proved functional once exposed to the sunlight.

The small LCD display held the following message :

"Congratulations! You have made your first Jewish Missionary in Hamburg!"

And thus, through subsequent rounds of plotting and vile misinformation, was the Holocaust born.
Now thats proven beyond all reasonable doubt, everyone should hate Civ4 and all efforts to sue Sid will certainly succeed.

BTW, were you there? I showed up about 3:30 and sat at the bar until 4:00.

Nice place but I don't know about a date.

Unfortunately, the director of IT is leaving where I work and this was his last day so there was a big party and lots of food... so I didn't get a chance to eat.

But I do love Ann Arbor.

                              Thanks for the tip.
