You think it's justifiable to sue over something as insignificant as a computer game not working. Drop the martyr act. Just because things don't always work out exactly the way they're supposed to doesn't mean you've been personally wronged by those creating the product.

Suggestion: Instead of coming to one of the largest Civilization fan forums on the net and posting a thread entitled 'Who else hates civ4?', do something constructive; you do, in fact, have options:

      - Wait for the patch
      - Call tech support and try to iron out your problem
      - Upgrade your computer
      - Return the game (if you didn't save the receipt that's your fault)
      - Get over it and get on with your life

Posting a one sentence anger-fueled rant isn't going to accomplish a damn thing, let alone convince people that your opinion bears truth. And I think the 93-3 score on that poll can attest to that.

I was gonna post on this, but then thought better, as I might get sued for "defamation of character"

FWIW Ann Arbor is a college town. It's home to the University of Michigan (a rather well renown university).

I don't know the actual reason but it's very possible he's a student. Although I have no idea why he won't say one way or the other.

Well, catch you at the red hawk, about 3:30 Tuesday.

I wish we could have the mods just close these threads.

I apologize for my rant at the end. but I fail to see any humor (except mine I guess) at what was posted.

No, noone has all the answsers, but the game is a start, at least!

Borrow a computer, perhaps, maybe not!
However, I too, am waiting for the patch, and I play a Tiny or Small world, with the number of Civs that I can, if the larger worlds lag too much!

Now, if you do not like the way the game is made, well, consider that perhaps, there will be -- more Civ games from somewhere else, perhaps! (another Country?).

But just about anything can be fixed in this game, or modded into this game, or when the SDK comes out next year -- a lot more modding done. However if all I wanted was set logic about Civilization exactly this or that or this Nation built that, or that Nation built this, I would not even consider this game.

Compared to real Civilization, try as you might, there would no comparison. If only history is what I wanted, there be no need for a game.
The Lord's Prayer on the Opening Menu Screen sings it all! (and in another language -- Swahili!)

I still consider it tasteless if anyone thought that real Civilization or the real World was really better!

Perhaps a little smallness added to humans all over this Planet is needed!
We are still at most -- cavemen in this world, but only with better tools and technology, in this Universe!
One should feel that the entire Civilization of Past times should be represented on a CD - like the flat Universe really is, and small -- since humans are really that small compared to what may have to be solved in the future.
Placing a limit on what this Universe is, may just be commiting suicide for the human species!
Better to play another day, then be led down the path of self-rightousness!

Refuse to vote since there is no banana option!

but you americans need to develop the ability to see in nuances, I dont hate the game, but I dont love it either... I am disappointed, I am frustrated but I dont hate it. it is not what I wanted or expected, but its not horribly bad. its just not good enough...

wow...that isn't painting an entire group of people with a broad brush, now is it?

That would suggest that you lack to see nuances, not Americans.
                      Haven't been here for ages....

                              @ shogun gunner

You are of course correct and I am of course slightly ironic. the thread starter should develop nuance, and any cheap shot I can take at americans who represent their country in a foolish manner will be taken

of course I will take cheap shots at others who act in a stereotypical manner (not viciously or racist) but americans tend to make it extra easy

Nice menu. $13 for Fish and Chips? (the cheapest dinner on the menu)

Still, it is less than $50 (and I got the name of a good B&G to go to when we move).
