Why the patch is so rushed then? And why everyone, not just the 10 percents eagerly wait it?

Rushed? You don't have a clue what you're talking about, do you?

One month is hardly a "rush" for a first patch. I've seen many games where the first patch had to come in 2 weeks.

Regardless, the "rush" on the patch doesn't prove anything, other than the responsiveness of the game company. It certainly doesn't prove your stupid assertion that the game doesn't work right for anybody.

And I await the patch for the tweaks, just as I did for great games like Diablo, EU, etc. It doesn't mean they're "broken," only that gameplay continues to be optimized based on a broad spectrum of player feedback. What's wrong with that?

I don't need no patch for game performance (on large maps, so far). OTOH, I bought a new computer specifically for civ4 just a month previously.

Because it makes a good game even better? Patches are inevitability in a complex game such as Civ IV. There will be unforseen problems since the game can´t be tested on every system setup available on the market. It´s just not financially sound to test it to such an extent. There´s profits to consider here. That´s the price we pay for operating in a market economy.

The pictures are inconvenient for the civolopedia, tis true. You can work around it by clicking on any old picture and then when you're in the submenu the alphabetical unpictured list will be on the right-hand side.

Oh yeah, the Civilipedia is a step backwards from Civ III.

Which reminds me of the Civ III Tech-Tree. Wasn´t it in Civ III where you (if you wanted to set a new goal for your scientific research) could just open the civilopedia choose the entry for a unit/improvement/wonder etc. and then click the button to research all the techs necessary for this item?
It´s another thing I really miss in Civ IV

You can do this, just choose the "bigger picture" option when it asks you to choose a new tech, and it brings you to the tree. Then choose the tech you are striving for and it will fill in the rest.

As for the Civilopedia and the iconography, while I agree that it being so bunched up is poor design, the pictures are not the problem. How many of you have used - but the layout needs to be easier to navigate.

I am shelving it after this game as well, but not because my computer can't handle it. I would hope they wouldn't code the game for the lowest common denominator. That's why minimum specs exist (and minimum usually means unplayable).

I am just frustrated with things I've posted in other threads:
                                1. Air combat is totally borked. No air-to-air combat option.
                                2. SAM units too powerful, Air units too weak.
                                3. Stealth units not stealthy.
                                4. Having to click on the start icon like 4-5 times before the game will actually load.
                                5. Units becoming obsolete within a few turns of being available or even before you complete building one (even on epic speed with some units).
                                6. Every few games started without a warrior unit instead of a settler unit.
                                7. Other random features and bugs.
                                etc.

I love the new look, feel and other stuff, I am just frustrated by the problems and will wait for the patch to hope that most of them get sorted.
