      But without knowing the concept of animal husbandry, people would hardly consider horses as a potentially useful animal for war. Potential dinner, yes, but military applications? Hardly. So it's not about that horses weren't "seen", but more like thier usefulness wasn't.

        The problem with Ironworks was that people weren't seeing any production bonuses for building it. I haven't confirmed this is a problem though, personally.

        I LOVE revealing horses after animal husbandry.
        The current major early techs are:
        1) Mining->Bronze Working for worker chops
        2) Mysticism->Meditation/Polytheism for religion founding

        Animal Husbandry has always been a tempting choice to get resource bonuses, but it's never chosen early. This way, it adds a little more to sweeten the deal (the revelation of horse resources).

          Agreed.
          It seems to be a well-conceived patch... Maybe a scheduled one, to be released just after the game? But then, with all that graphic problems and memory issues, they had to delay it...

              Great! I really hate watching my less 6 months computer (laptop computer, centrino 2 GHz that is eq to a P4 at 3,2) with 128 ATI card and 512 RAM going SLOW with it . And not in Huge Terra maps no, just big terra maps!! Let's see that Firaxis "solved" that.

                What 'frightens' me is that this patch will actually fix all the issues I had with my Radeon 9550 card (256MB)-one week after I got it swapped out for a 9250 card (128MB). The reason being is that now I will have to put the old card back in so that I can get the faster video processing speed . Unless the patch just makes the whole thing faster, of course !

                    Horses are visible from the start though.

                    tsk nevermind I missed that part of the original post...

                            I am very happy that Firaxis is keeping the Civ community informed on the patch status.

                              I have that problem also. But if I alt-tab out of civ and back in, that fixes it. Does that workaround work for you?

                              Also, I get the same garbled graphics when I first enter the Sims 2 create a sim screen, do you get that one too?

                                There were also a number of video card specific fixes.
                                I hope this means my GF2MX200 will show proper yields on tiles now, that is really starting to bug me. Anyway, patch looks good lets hope nothing major comes up in testing that delays it.
