City Display(problem with yield display)

When double clicking on a city to bring up the city display screen production of food, currency, and hammers is not displayed. The only thing I see is either one or two loaves of bread regardless of what has been built in the square inside the fat cross. I'm assuming this has something to do with level of graphics or a certain display option I have turned off? I looked through options and did not see anything listed. Could someone direct me to what I am missing?
