  • Couple of question

I have couple of question. Would appreciate if some explains the things to me.
    1. How the health math works? When the health is negative, it "rottens" the food - the same number of food as the number of hegative health.
But what when the health is positive? What exactly are the benefits of positive health (besides being positive means it is not negative)?

    2. How exactly the colliseum works? The civpedia says it adds directly 1 happy face and 1 happy face per 20% culture. What the last means?

    3. How exactly the GP birth points are calculated? Are they calculated per city or for the whple empire or +3 means this city has +3% more chances of generating a great person every turn?

Positive health provides you nothing other than room to grow.

I'm guessing the 20% is percentage of commerce devoted to culture.

GP birth points are all based on the city I believe.

I'm no authority, to be sure, but I think I can answer your questions...

      1. No benefits for extra health other than knowing that your next green circle won't result in consuming food. In my mind, it lets me know how much flexibility I have to add "polluting" improvements.

      2. This refers to your culture slider. In the top left you have sliders for gold and research initially. Once you research Drama (I think...) you get the culture slider. For every 20% you devote to culture, you get an extra smiley.

      3. Great Person Points, if I understand them correctly, are cumulative points, by city. Once a city has reached the next level of GP points, a great person will be created.

wrt GP points (#3), each city accumulates it's own pool of points based on the specialists and wonders it has. When it reaches your "GP Threshold" it resets to 0 and you get a GP in that city. Then your GP Threshold increases a certain amount, and the process continues.

The "increase per GP" was 300 in an epic game at noble difficulty (I assume it is less at regular speed, and do not know if it changes with difficulty)

It is also possible that you keep "overflow" (though i think I remember it always being 0 after a GP spawn) so it could reset to "near 0" instead of exactly 0.

I was paying VERY close attention to GP points my last game, as I was trying to pull off an epic Cultural Victory and desperately needed Great Artists to finish in time (missed it by 7 turns -- grrrr -- soooo close;-) At least I now know it's POSSIBLE to get those 75000 culture points in 3 citys by end of game (I could have reloaded a save to "reroll" a Prophet and an Engineer to get the CV)

        PS --
There is a bug where the breakdown of your % chance of getting each type of GP does not update correctly as you change specialists around and such. (jic anyone keeping track of such things sees this)
