  • Financial advisor inaccurate for beakers

I check my financial advisor at the end of my turn: 249 beakers. Current research status: Metal Casting, 11/585, 2 turns. (Let's temporarily ignore why the hell I didn't research Metal Casting until I had that many beakers.)

Last time I checked, (585-11)/249 was greater than 2.

But sure enough, at the beginning of my next turn I was up to 311/585 on Metal Casting, 1 turn. Financial advisor is now displaying 250 beakers.

Why am I getting 20% more research than the financial advisor says? Why is the "turns remaining" count accurate when the financial advisor isn't?

Check again at the end of the turn, before you press "end turn". I cannot remember what I was looking at, but yesterday I recall the number I was looking at change, and out of the corner of my eye I saw the terrain change. Likly an automated worker improvement which finished as I was looking at the numbers.

Perhaps some screens take into account what your Civ will look like at the end of the turn, and other screens tell you the exact numbers at the moment? Just a guess.

I did check at the end of my turn, and the beginning of the next turn.

The number was off by FIFTY at both times. That's not a terrain change, that's a space station.

Perhaps it's not counting scientists or a particular improvement/wonder

Yeah, it sounds like you're getting 250 beakers from taxing cash but probably getting the +10% bumps from monasteries/libraries/etc for the other 50.
