Hello all, my first post.
I had a problem with CivIV that after loading a saved game that I had played a while, as soon as I clicked on a unit - the computer rebooted (probably BSOD) ! But here's what I did to fix it!
As soon as the game is loaded, I click and "drag" on the minimap and make sure to view the whole world. Do it exessively and you'll notice that it gets faster to move around after a while. Then the map-data is cached into memory.
I also click through the F1-F8 displays and then finish off with viewing all my cities (not the info screen) with the Home and End keys just to make sure that as much as possible is loaded into memory before I click on a worker.
Then it works! Kind of weird. Try it!
I've got a AMD2800xp, Radeon 9800, 1gb memory.
