  • Obsolete wonders stop producing GPP

I would like some other people to verify this, but in one of my recent games I built the stonehenge to get a great prophet, but I had a lot of resources requiring calendar. I had 3 religions, so I built the oracle in a different city several turns later.

I thought it was strange that my city with the oracle produced the GP before the city with stonehenge did, so I looked at the cities. It turns out that obsolete wonders stop producing GP points, as I was stuck at 60 points with a +0 gain.

Was this done deliberately? I always get stonehenge to quickly get a prophet, but now I'm thinking of skipping it in favor of just using a priest, which provides the production/gold benefits and more great prophet points then stonehenge does.

If this was done deliberately, wonders that don't go obsolete for a long time or at all (like the pyrmaids and the oracle) become FAR superior to short terms ones like stonehenge. It also makes the specialists much stronger GPP generators then wonders are.

    Yes, you are correct.

This is one reason the Oracle is unusually good for its cost -- it never stops generating GPP.
