      Your misinformation comes from a different fact, that IE is used in Explorer and Help and things. So people say "IE is part of the operating system" (on the grounds that the operating system includes things like Explorer and Help).

      But it's not part of the kernel.


      Question: if you think it's part of the kernel, how do you explain the fact that MSHTML.DLL is an entirely user-space COM?
