Dearmad is just pointing out how only Settlers (newbie posters) are BOLD enough to ask EXACTLY what everybody else also desperately wants to know but are too tactful to dare ask.
They don't fix their games anymore. They make you pay them to fix them. It's called an "expansion pack". Which means they fix all the broken stuff that should have been fixed initially, but charge you for it. However, they justify it by putting in "even more civs!" as if that matters.
Don't get me wrong. I love the Civ series and own every one. I just am disappointed that Sid let some marketing wonk talk him into the expansion pack idea.
Ummm.. huh, Sleestax? My personal experience is that Firaxis has been quite good at fixing problems in their earlier releases (like Civ3), without having to wait for an expansion pack. And really, the expansion packs for Civ3 did have some value, if you ask me. And as I can remember, the expansion pack versions weren't more stable than the vanilla Civ3.
I think you're just being overly pessimistic. The patch is coming, do not worry.
