  • How do I read the Military advisor?

Since Kublai Khan just closed his borders, and I agreed with Catherine to stop trading with Asoka I expect some fun offshore and on my borders soon. I have a defensive pact with Catherine and my waters are being patrolled with Destroyers. BUT I want to know how I stand with my armies against the other AIs. Where do I go and how do I read it? My over all score it highest but I am going to start some production of Marines and artillery and tanks. I also am going to make some transports and an aircraft carrier or two. Too bad you cant load bombers on them.

How am I supposed to use my bombers when the enemy is soo far away? There is a good amount of ocean between me and Kubla and Asoka. Am I better of just having a good navy and keeping him from landing? Or should I just take the fight to him?

I was going to ask the same thing. I don't have a clue how strong opponents are until I attackt them.

I don't know about the military screen, but the info screen will tell you where you are compared to the average and your miliary rank. I think it just goes by numbers, but it gives you an idea.

I sure miss the plain ole your are weak or avg or strong. It looks like if yo uselect one leader you will be shown what units it has, but only the those you has line of sight on. This includes those in towns that are in range or you can see into due to the religion.

          - try using carrier if there is water between u and it
          - try occupying a city close enough and move ur bomer to that city. Bomer can be moved to any of ur city in one turn
          that is my dummy answer...hiahia~~

Bombers can be stationed in friendly cities.

In a recent game, the Aztecs declared war on me. I took all their colonys, but their main area was too far from mine. So I landed bombers in the closest friendly city to the Aztec empire. This way, the big Aztec cities were easily within reach of my bombers, and I punished Montazuma for declaring war on my mighty empire by destroying every improvement in his 4 biggest cities.

              F9 - Demographics screen.

              Change "Score" to "Power."

The graph will estimate power meters. If you select yourself, the power meter will graph you vs. the highest military in the world. Selecting another civ will graph them relative to the same mark, I believe.

For esoteric intelligence overseas, try a spy (or 2) transported by submarine.
I'll have to try that F9 also.
