Get a prompt from the game when a city grows. I may be 4 turns away from growing and what to stop growth after this. i always miss it

I don't think you can yet recode the game's alert messages, but you can click a button on the City Management Menu of the city screen to stop growth.

If i click the button to stop growth will it still grow for the 4 turns that is left?

Depends.

If you stop growth, it will maximize either commerce or hammers, or both.

If, by maximizing the others, no food is left over, the food supply will not grow.

If Food is left over, then the food storage will get full, but it won't grow until you let it.

So for every city that is growing but coming to the limit of happy/health i have to continously check to stop it just after it grows. uh!!
