No Conquest Victory?

In my current game, I have 80-85% of both the world's land mass and population, and have for several turns. Yet the game has not determined me victor by Conquest (which according to Civilopedia is supposed to occur at 75% land mass/population).

Any ideas?

I also notice that when I go to exit game, I do not get the option to "Retire" and see my final rating.

The name of that type of victory is domination victory not conquest victory. For a conquest victory do you need to destroy every other civilization. You might have deactivated domination victory in that game.

The only time I think I can recall the Retire option missing is after you pass the year 2050. But I could be wrong.

sorry, I meant Domination. I should have qualified for Domination victory, but I was never prompted...my score didn't go to the Hall of Fame either. I just keep playing waiting for the end. The game appears to be forcing me to win by some other type...so I guess I'll have to wipe out the last 5 cities to eliminate all rivals.

I don't think I've ever opened World Builder.

Maybe that victory condition was unchecked at the beginning of the game...

if you open the world builder, the game won't be recorded anymore for Hall of Fame.

Oh well, I'll finish the global conquest and see what happens then I guess. :-)
