  • We Love Our Despot Day!(?)

    Hey Gang,

Grrr, I can't even remember what it did in the previous Civs so I'm completely lost now when it happens in Civ IV.

    1) What effect does the "We Love Our Despot" have for my city in the game.

    2) If its useful how can I make it happen intentionally (as I recall in Civ 3 it was all about not having any unhappy people in a city over a certain size or something).

In previous Civs it lowered corruption. I don't know what it does now.

It make the city cost no maintenance for this turn. You can trigger it with some conditions (size, no unhappy and I forgot the last one).

You can find explanation in the userguide (around page 60 I believe)

Oh, doh, its a little sidebar deally on page 55!

So, to sum up, if a city is above size 7, has no unhappy folk, and no health problems, you may have a "We Love the King Day!" which just means that city pays no maintenance that turn.
