  • More silly questions...

Ok so I am rampaging thru anothers territory. I am conquering cities. I have FOUR so far. Is there a limit to how many I can conquer and keep? Should I be razing them? I started with about 7 cities and when I am done with Cyrus' empire I will have 18!! Is this bad and why/how. I know if I grow too fast I slow down in production but these are established cities!

Ok so now I have gunpowder. Maceman appears to be the last ground combat guy I get and from now on its all ranged type. Is this true? When should I stop building these archaic melee types? Also is there a ship before ironclad but is like a battleship in that it rocks in ship to ship but can also sail all seas? I am looking at the old type 'ship of the line' types that were in old Call to pwer. Are there plans for any like this?

Also I want a longer game. More like More turns but longer time at each stage so I can savor each type of unit. Is there a simple mod or such that will let me do this? I like producing fast but want to enjoy each time period.

Also can I play a game deeper into the future? say 2150? That would be cool with future weapons and still have nukes...

    Thanks for the rant..

You can keep as many cities as your economy can afford.

Gunpowder units will be your army's bread and butter from now on. Congratulations.

Galleons. (are the fregates still in the game??? anyone?)

there is a time limit in the default rules (2050), but you can change that.

    No futuristic weapons.

You can play forever if you want. The game only stops the victory types at 2050AD or when any other condition is met.

I played one out past that date to test nukes. I did not build the wonder in the game time, so loaded it back a few days later to see what they looked like and so on.

At the gunpowder stage your attacking forces should be or become Cavalry. I assume you didn't use knights? They're a lot handier than ground troups.

And ofcourse Cannons. The most important forces.

          Longer game?

I am having a blast and I highly recomend this game. Do any of you out there have a mod where I can slightly lengthen the research part of the game and keep the production up? So instead of 650 (?) turns I can have 1200?

          Thanks much

There is a thread going on about trying to create a mod like that in the mods forum. Some exist, but people are trying to refine it.

What about just playing an "Epic" game length? You can set the game length for longer than normal and it makes the game last much longer.
