  • Game Good. Wonder Movies Suck.

Civilization IV bring to us new nice fetures.

But the Wonder Movies are really bad.

On the site they say 32 movies!! lol
That is true. But ALL 32 make me disappointment.
Yes, also the begin and the final movie.

The movies of Civ 2 are the best yet.

Have you seen the space race victory movie? Probably not, because otherwise you wouldn't complain about the "great" (PS they're not great at all anymore) wonder movies!

      The victory movies are awesome!

The wonder movies aren't all that great though. That said, I'm not sure what the big fuss over the wonder movies has been. We're all going to play this game thousands of times and seeing those movies every single time gets old (I've already turned them off via a switch in the INI file.)

still it gave you some sort of accomplishment. Yeah I used to always hit the space bar when they came on. But when they were missing, it bothered me for some reason.

But yeah these movies aren't as good. I'm still pissed the Hoover Dam has been removed. . It's the only wonder that resides in the area in which I live. No longer I guess.

I am quite amazed . When the movies are there, peoplesay they're nice for a bit and then turn them off. When the movies aren't there, there's an uproar. When the movies aren't like Civ2, there's an uproar.

Civ4 wonder movies aren't the best ones ever seen - my preference remains with CtP and SMAC in this regard - but they're not bad, and they have an interesting style IMO. The victory movies are very good, though .

What? You mean the space race victory movie is good? Then either you've got a different movie or we have very different tastes.

Not that I care too much a bout the movies, but since they're in, why not make them good?

space race was an okay movie. You'd think they would get rid of that penis shaped spaceship by now... . I have still yet to see the others.

What are all the victory movies? Are there separate ones for domination and conquest? I hear there is none for diplomatic, so I won't bother for that victory. But I do want to win the other ways. So far I've only gotten 2 space ship victories.

I don't like Space race movie too, as I said at the opening post.

We lost the movie sensation of Civ 2.
Also for the final video (I mean Space race).

About turning off the video afther you see it once, I'm not agree.
Every time I played Civ 2 I always saw all the movies.
Sometimes I made the wonder just to see the movie, and not beacuse I need it...

But in Civ 4 of course I close the movies. ARE ALL THE SAME!

I'd like to say others things about movies in the 4 civs.
But I'm not so good to speak english, so I pass...

There have never been any good Wonder-movies.

But there have been good Secret Project-movies.

If I hadn't played Civ2, I wouldn't care about the wonder movies. However since I've seen them, I've thought all other games' wonder movies sucked. Even some special edition of civ2 i bought didn't have the original movies, so I assume there was some kind of copywright problem. The civ2 movies really made me watch in 'wonder'

Hmm. Theoretically, could you replace the movie file with something else?

Like, could you have the game play, when you built Stonehenge, some video clips of some history channel documentary on Stonehenge?

                      Is that even possible?

The wonder movies aren't great, but it's still nice to see a video/picture of the finished product.

My favs are broadway and statue of liberty.
