I can live without the bug-squashing. But how am I supposed to spend my time at work?

It's got so bad lately I even sunk low enough to post opinions in the oaties.

I've gotta get an upgrade soon for the sake of my own sanity. Besides, I just know Locutus is forlorn here without me.

      one word: upgrade

from hardware drivers to windows update
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

          Hm,
I voted for having a banana,
but, after giving it a second thought,
with a banana you have at least something to eat,
whereas in the first choice of your poll you wouldn´t even have this
and therefore I´d vote for your first option instead

Actually Alpha Centauri is a pretty good game!

I'm running it. But I would say this. If you are forced to wait for a patch level or two, it would not be tragic. Though if you wait too long, you might begin to suffer from simultaneous longing for Civ 4 and Galciv 2!

Another word: No movies, or any other of the extraneous nonsense that will prevent you playing Civ.
You bought it for the game, right, because if you want to see wonder movies then just subscribe to the Discovery Channel. Play Civ, and appreciate it for what it is, and get rid of all of the memory-heavy extras.

And as I said above the game runs, but not without difficulties...

And don´t tell me to upgrade. I know I have to in the near future. And as icing on the cake my monitor went all wonky on me this morning. The tube is about to retire

                      1) I already spent my gaming budget this year buying a comp that would run C3C. That machine does everything I need except run Civ4. So it's hard to justify scrapping a perfectly good, 6 month-old machine.

                      2) When I do upgrade, I'd really prefer to get a decent machine, and a mobo with S-ATA. Instead, upgrading now means having another trailing-edge machine, just clinging to the edge of obsolescence.

I had the game for almost a week now, and it is painfully slow on my home comp (movies are so choppy they are unwatcable ). Alas, I have no other comp to play it on. But at least it runs.

Ah yes, of course. Now applying AC5 decryption algorithm,...

It´s bad. The game barely runs. Grapics are seriously choppy and it takes forever to start the game and load saves in-game. The game uses 85-90% of the cpu and all the memory and then some...
