  • Femal characters or rather the lack of

    Hi!

I am a big Civ fan . Been playing the game since civ 1. But as a female I always felt a bit annoyed by the fact that there is so few choices for me. Unless I want to play male. I understand that there is a lack of historic female political leaders, but a simple rebuilder option should greatly improve the pleasure the play the game. Please let me rebuild Franklin or Khan into a female dito and I´m happy again.

    A major plea

poster Ghengis Farb had made a number of female leaders (complete with animation) for Civ 3. Perhaps if you ask nicely, he'll put clothes on them on remake them for cIV...

Oh no, not this thread again. This issue has already been beaten to death (and more) here.

I imagine this issue will continue to come up, though.

I am with Arnelos, I have no probelm playing the females in III or IV. Who even notices, it is just a game and we are suppose to be concentrating on strategy.

There are a lot more females in it than in Civ1, that's for sure. Civ2 had the most, true--one male and female per civ. But they had to streeeeetch to find female rulers for many civs.

Face it--it's been a man's world for most of history, so the vast majority of rulers have been men. I think the female choices in Civ4 are pretty good ones, and thank god they didn't bring back Joan of Arc... oy.

Woow, down boys, I guess I wasn´t prepered on some of the male chavunism my very innocent question would surface. Face it it´s not a mans world anymore. Or not entirely anyway

To be serious, it is more fun to play when you can relate to the roll. And that´s why I asked the q in the first place.

Honey, I'm gay. I couldn't care less whether they're clothed or not.

Yeah, what we need is not butt-ugly male leaders, damn it.
The problem with leadership is inevitably: Who will play God?

I can relate. I usually don't like playing the female leaders either. I'm sure it would be nice to have male and female characters for each civ.

When I play, the leader of my civ is Skanky Burns, regardless of gender. I don't have to look at myself, so who cares?
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

I don't really see why for Civ4, as the only leaders portraits you see in the game are precisely the ones you're not playing with., except maybe on the Diplomacy advisor screen. Few things prevent you from giving Gandhi a feminine name.

Your girlfriend, for one. Fellow Polytubbies at Polymeets for another.

Edit: Wait, aren't you married now? In that case, I guess it doesn't matter to her. But we still have to look at you at Polymeets...

Hopefully there'll be more female leaders, either from mod-makers, patches, or the expansion.

You can add-in a picture and icons, right? Disable the animated Civ leader thing? A stopgap solution, I know, but hey...sometimes, you just want Joan of Arc to crush Frederick the Great with her massive nuclear stockpile.

I know I get that urge every so often. Maybe that's just me...
