Winning the space race

Can someone please answer a question for ?me?

Here is the situation:

I started a Civ IV game to learn some of he game concepts. I made the game very easy with only 2 AI civs and a HUGE map and chieftian level, only 3 victory conditions: Conquest, space race, Diplomatic. I did fine in the game and have built all of the spaceship parts parts .

My question is, how do I LAUNCH the ship.?

This is the technical help forum, not a game help forum.

The ship launches automatically when all parts are finished, keep in mind you do need several units of some parts. If it lets you build it, you must build it.

I got the same problem. Ship is finished, then... nothing.
It just 'sits' there... Patched it to no avail... Dunno what to do now. I even tried loading an older savegame to see if there was a problem with some sort of initialization and thought it might have been fixed in the 1.09-patch, but noooo

My suspicion is that you didn't build all the spaceship parts, because you have not researched the necessary technologies or gotten access to the necessary resources to be able to see them.

If you build all the parts, the spaceship launches automatically.

All tech-researches are complete. I am researching future technologies now...
Listing what I can build in my cities, there are no spaceship-parts left to build and when checking on F8 all parts are filled in and click-able on the 'blue-print', so I think there's something else that is the problem. 13 parts all in all, right?

I have built -ALL- wonders and have never gotten any technologies from any other civilizations but researched them myself.
I lowered all settings to minimum
I patched to 1.09
I cleared the cache
I loaded older save-games where I hadnt even started building the spaceship to see if it would work the next time
I cursed gamesettings (only space-victory allowed)
I blessed (the game for being so fun uptil that point)
I... came here
