Game won't start with no error message

Hi folks.

Seem to be having a problem that no one else is having...

When I start the game, I first get the loading splash screen, which changes to a progress bar with "Checking XML" underneath it. Then that quits, with no error message and that's it.

I have a Pentium IV 3.2GHz with 2Gb of RAM and a Nvidia Geforce 6800 with the latest drivers.

Any help would be appreciated.

There are posts with the same problem. Check your soundcard drivers.
