  • Civ 4 creats shortcuts!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright now I want some HELP!!!!!!! I cant be the only one with this extremely stupid problem. Why does civ4 have shortcuts in its main folder were I installed it.There are a shortcut in the folder for saves, screenshots, replays etc. Their real folders end up in documents and settings , my profile, my games.

If you want them in your main folder, edit the shortcut to play Civilization. Right click on it, select "Properties", and for the "Target" add to the end:

        /ALTROOT=.

(include the period, don't include this. )

I thought it was rather nice of them to put the shortcut in there for you. Lots of games are saving to user specific locations, most don't give you the shortcut though.

Virtual folders have been around for a heck of a long time.

              About shortucts

When I install CivIV, it doesn't create the files who referenced the shorcuts(i haven't the civilizationIV.ini file in:"%HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\CivilizationIV.ini". Are they created after the first play o after de install, berfore the first play?
