  • A "Price of Peace" issue?

Everytime I try to end war with someone if I select the "price of peace" option on the chat screen, I can select all the enemy cities as well as all tech (and other normally impossible options) and then I get the some warning (twice) about giving gifts for a peace treaty but then it changes the options from my offer to the PCs OFFER and all I need to do is agree to it. I have been able to do this everytime and only once did it NOT give me all the cities. So I wonder if it is a bug or AL flaw.

Speaking of which I also think something is wrong regarding the trading of cities in the general game as it is impossible.

On a related point of intrest, the AIs trade tech way to much but do NOT do so with the human player as a matter of discourse. Additionally when it does it is nearly always rather biased.

Also does anyone have a good seed value for map generation? The default one is not so great and it tends to palce all civs near each other and on one land mass.

On a positive note, I play on multi-monitors with 3200 res and duel Xeons and it rocks!

Ya, a bunch of people have reported this. It's a bug and I am guessing it will be fixed in the first or second patch. I remember a similar bug in Civ3 where I could demand 1 billion gold and he would agree even though the AI had only 10 gold, hehe, only did it once just to see if it actually worked.

Trading cities should be impossible during normal play of the game, it should only make sense to give 1 city to acheive peace when the AI knows it is losing.

Ya, AIs trade tech a lot. It was even more vicious in Civ3. I have seen that AIs send me trade offers much more than in Civ3 and accept trades more. Sometimes they refuse to trade key techs or new techs, but that just makes sense, it's what I do.

Dunno about map seeds, sorry. You can make a custom game and take out a few AIs and use the largest map, that should spread out everyone pretty far.

Mmmm, were you the one who posted that pic of that 3-monitor system? Wow, that's sweet, I wonder how BF2 would play on that, *dreams*

Thank you for the input. I hope the issues are addressed in the patch.

As to you rquestion, sorry I'm not the guy with the three monitors.

I've not been able to re-create this with the AI in my MP games...
