AUTO AI-PLAY : beginners' guide

Can anyone give a guide to setting up Civ-4 to play itself with N AI players. Civ-2 had this option.

I'd like to sweat Civ4 on a big world, but have got loads of other less exciting stuff to do. This would be an uber-screensaver.

There are a couple of articles out there talking about the monitor etc which I don't understand - so a beginners' guide for this would be welcome.

Can't try this at the moment, but since you can continue playing after you've gotten to the final score screen... what happens if you disband your settler at 4000 BC and have "pause at end of turn" turned off... and tell it you want to play more turns?

In Civ III it just dumped you back at the main menu, so I expect it to work the same in Civ IV. But if there's no other way to set no human players...

[edit] Never mind. You'd just have a 3x3 fog of war and no way to stop and exit the game.
