  • How to buy upgrades in city

How do I just buy a soldier or any other building/improvement?

I have tons of cash, but I want to spend it by buying stuff, but can't figure out how....

    Any clues?

You need to be in the proper civic.

man, what civic do I need? I'm in the year 1000AD already.

How would I do it anyways?

You need Universal Sufferage (Democracy) to cash rush. Slavery (Bronze Working) to pop rush.

Ok, well, what are we supposed to do with cash, save it for democracy???

If so, then it seems the best alternative besides upgrading to civ3, is to keep toggling between positive and negative cash flow...instead of creating a surplus.

          Any other ideas?

You can use cash to upgrade your units before you can rush. Also, well before you can cash rush, you can use it to buy techs and other favors from the AI.

I mostly use mine for spot upgrades of key units during wartime. The fact that upgraded units keep their promotions is very, very useful.

thanks for the responses, but i'm dissapointed that I can buy science, but not a temple....

I will give it a shot nontheless...see how much it costs for science.

Well, even if you have all the money of the world, if you want a new house the house needs to be build anyway.

You can't buy techs from the computer as well. Of course you can buy it from computer-players. (who already invented it)

It doesn't work different then in civ3.

Why do you have so much cash in early game anyway?
