Civ IV is a great game, can't believe the great changes they made. I was sceptic about the 3D, I thought that would scrap the game, but they done it wonderfully!
I have still a small concern about maps. I found that maps are too small. The 'Immense' one is still too small, I mean, I like to play with a lot of AI on game (18, but I can only manage to build 4-5 towns before being surrounded by other civ. In earlier games, I could build about 10-12 towns before knowing 3-4 civ, now, I know almost all of them after only 10-15 turns.
I made a game with all settings for a large terran map, but still, not enough. I know that in civ 3, the larger built-in map was 192x192 (random map) or something near that, but with editor, you could make maps of 256x256. Is there a way to make custom maps in Civ IV, a way to get larger than 'Immense'?
All in all, Civ IV 4 is awesome, and I played them all since 1994.
