"Favorite Civic"?

Each leader has a favorite civic, besides the 2 traits, but i cannot find what the exact bonus or incentive there is in adopting this civic. any idea?

If you run their favorite civic, then they will be happier with you. If you refuse their requests, they are insulted.

so does your *own* leader's favorite civic affect what choices you make in civics? or is it just an AI thing?

Simply an AI thing. Your own leader couldn't care less what civics you run, since, in essence YOU are that leader and his/her individual desires do not apply when you are in command.

You have the option of forcing/bribing AI into adopting say organized religion (from theocracy) in order to be able to spread your religion among them.
