I was just messing around in my first game, and thought "yeah, this looks pretty cool." But I had no problem saving and walking away.

Then I started game two... let's just say my wife is not happy, my kids don't know what I look like, and I keep finding excuses for showing up late to work and leaving early.

Wait, one more turn and I will have the wonder complete...
Check clock again, damn, it's 3:30am, I really need to sleep...

Um, yeah. Hook, line and sinker, even though I don't have version 1.00 yet...

got done with the tutorial. I thought about playing on as the romans, but decided to start a game as the americans instead. But I'm taking a break to read the manual. There are a lot of new things I need to find out about. I know a while back I created a poll about reading manuals. I said I would read at least some of the manual before playing this game. But that hasn't happened yet. So I'm going to take a break to read the manual.

I like most of the game, just not the combat system or the very often boring diplomacy.

I'd have picked 'yes' but I got the flu so I can't concentrate on the game ATM and my 'blahs' killed my Civ jones.

So far 90 people have checked in, and Civ4 is doing quite OK.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

Already skipped out on two meetings with my thesis advisor. Operator theoretic approaches to problems in functional analysis don't threaten you with nuclear weapons... although they might if they could.

what am i doing. I have to wake up earlier tomorrow... I've got the serious, "just one more turn" syndrome again.

I had forgotten had bad that can be....

Yes, I'm hooked. Unfortunatly, for me, it's not: just one more turn but one more CTD.

Hooked from the first day. Damn, I am now at work and considering my strategies.

Should I build mostly farms to have food to feed all the specialists, or go the town-heavy "democracy" route for commerce, or instead industrialise the area with workshops and mills, and aim for State Property?

                              Damn, so many choices.

From the first moment. It is a very good game with only few shortcomings. Civ3 is dead, at least for me. Civ2 might me worth to be fired up for nostalgy reasons, though.
