i have a 32MB geforce 5200 on my laptop and i want to know if any people out there have been able to run CIV on this gfx card before i buy the game.
thanks
I noticed a gradual slowing of the game as well over time. I have to try out Snoopy's "delete cache prior to starting the game" trick.
Last year I had a pretty much graphic intensive game (my card was spot on the minimum specs there) and it ran smoothly. The developper was known for its coding optimizing. It does look like the problem here.

I did cashe deleting and it did not help. Game worked smooth in the beginning. I am at 1860 around. All average- map size, 7 players. Turns are processed like 5 minutes each. Scrolling works like 3 secends each tile in extreme cases. I think it is a problem of page file memory in my case, due to only 256 MB.
My processor is 2.8 GHz too. But it matters little here.
I am not in a position for any memory upgrades at the moment. I think Civ4 will be not for me for some time.
