  • Is the Tech tree wrong ?

Well I just started a game and wanted to just researched Polytheism and wanted to research Monotheism, and I was suprised that I had to research Masonry before I could do Monothiesm. On the tech tree in the game there is no arrow indicating that you had to have Masonry first, but on the paper tech tree I just noticed it there.

Is there other errors in the game tech tree? Not showing arrows when there should be?

I noticed the same thing and posted a thread about it a couple days ago.

It's on page 2 in general called "in game tech tree incomplete" or some such thing.

The response I got was that the in game tree only shows the "or" requirements for techs.

I dont really get it, but someone could clarify I guess.
While there might be a physics engine that applies to the jugs, I doubt that an entire engine was written specifically for the funbags. - Cyclotron - debating the pressing issue of boobies in games.

also, it seems that any tech that has a requirement that isn't shown with a line, has a little symbol in the upper right of the box letting you know what the req. tech is.

How do you post a response that has a link to another thread?

Yes. It would be too difficult to included all the lines in the in-game tech tree, so they show you the main flow only. The other required techs are in the upper right corner.

also, if you click on a tech you want the computer will automatically research everything you need to get to it, and number them on the screen, so you can see what you need and in what order the computer will research it.

Then you can cancel it if it's too much.

For some techs you need *two* previous techs before you can start researching it. One of these is manditory, the other one is sometimes a choise between 2 or 3 earlier techs.

The manditory tech is putted in the left top corner of the tech you want to research, as a little icon.
The "either/or" techs are displayed with lines.

              ie.
              Tech 1 --- Tech 2 ----- Tech 5 [Tech 4]
              Tech 3 _____________|

Right here you need [Tech2] OR [Tech3], and you need [Tech4]

              So: Tech2 / Tech4 leads to Tech 5
              and Tech3 / Tech4 leads to Tech 5.

If there's no manditory tech icon in the upper left corner there is no manditory tech and you just need one of the ' either/or' techs.
